Joyce Loree Sogn

Joyce Loree Sogn, age 81, of Yankton, died on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005 in Yankton. Funeral service was Sept. 10, 2005 at the Kostel Funeral Chapel in Yankton with the Rev. Nate Hanson officiating. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Hudson.

Joyce Loree Kennedy was born May 21,1924 in Hawarden, the daughter of parents Forest and Irma (Ford) Kennedy. Loree grew up and was educated in the Alcester area and graduated from Plainview Seventh Day Adventist Academy in Redfield, S.D. in 1942. She was an assessor in the Virginia Township in South Dakota and worked with the military in Lincoln, Neb. before her marriage to Don Sogn on Dec. 26, 1950 in Kansas City, Mo. She remained on a rural farm in the Alcester/Hudson area most of her life.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff Sogn of South Sioux City, Neb., Doug Bower of California; two daughters, Lisa Hendricks of Columbus, Neb. and Liz Davis of Cabot, Ar.; one brother Bill Kennedy of Hawarden, numerous nieces and nephews, grand-children, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, infant brother Joseph Wayne and son Theodore Sogn.
