Alice Douglas

May 6, 1930 -April 29, 1998

Alice Mae Douglas, 67, of Orange City died Wednesday, April 29, at her residence.

Memorial services were Saturday at American Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Harlan Van Oort officiating. Burial was prior to the service at West Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Douglas was born on May 6, 1930, in Stanton, the daughter of Axel and Alice (Floburg) Lantz. She was raised in Elliot, and was graduated from Simpson College In Indianola. She moved to Red Oak, where she taught physical education for three years.

She married Earle Douglas on June 13, 1954, in Stanton. The couple lived In Ames for two years and Laurens for 15 years. In 1971, they moved lo Orange City.

She was a member of American Reformed Church.

Survivors Include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Sara and David Kozeluh of Woodruff, Wisconsin; and Amy and Scott Sieperda of Rock Rapids; three sons, Dan and his wife Wende of Storm Lake, John of Pella and Mark of Lawrence, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Douglas and Craig Kozeluh, Sabrina, Hunter and Ivy Mae Sieperda, Alison, Heather and Peter Douglas; her mother of Red Oak: two brothers, Howard Lantz and his wife, Betty, of Red Oak and Axel Lantz Jr. of Las Vegas Nevada; a sister and her husband, Lucille and Darwin Bailey of Red Oak; and two brothers-in-law, Harry Larson of Overland Park, Kansas, and Robert Anderson of Stanton.

She was preceded In death by her father; and two sisters, Doris Jean Larson and Norma Anderson.

Memorials may be directed to either Orange City Hospital Women's Auxiliary, Sioux County Hospice or American Reformed Church Children's Library.
