Troutman, Bertha (Mrs. Royal) 1869-1940

Hawarden Independent December 19, 1940

Mrs. Bertha Lucretia Troutman, a former resident of Hawarden, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.C. Bloom in Sioux City early Friday morning, December 13.

Mrs. Troutman was born on September 20, 1869, at Blairstown, Iowa, where she lived until her marriage on November 15, 1892, to Royal W. Troutman. After their marriage the couple moved on a farm near Hawarden, where they resided until 1923, when they moved to Hawarden where Mr. Troutman operated a wood works for a number of years, later moving to Sioux City. Mr. Troutman died in 1935. She was a member of St. James Methodist church.

Surviving are three sons, R.D. and R.W. Troutman of Sioux City and Geo. D. Troutman of Rapid City, S.D.; and two daughters, Mrs. Harley Keck and Mrs. L.C. Bloom both of Sioux City.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Thomas C. Batho at 1:30 Monday at St. James Methodist church, Sioux City. Interment was made in Graceland cemetery.
