Pansy Oldenkamp
Pansy Oldenkamp, 97, of Rock Valley died Saturday, March 5, at Valley Manor in Rock Valley. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pioneer United Methodist Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Jerry Robertson officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley.

Mrs. Oldenkamp was born March 17, 1907, to William and Anna (Schmudlach) Vail in Nevis, Minnesota. They moved to Rock Valley in 1911. She graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1925. She married Joe Oldenkamp on June 9, 1925, in Orange City. They farmed between Doon and Rock Valley for 44 years.

He died in 1969, and she moved to Rock Valley soon after. She moved to Valley Manor in 2003. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She loved to crochet and made many afghans.

Survivors include her son Robert (Diana) Oldenkamp of rural Hawarden; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lemi and Harry Vail; and two sisters, Gladys De La Garza and Dorothy Johnson.
