Rites held Tuesday at Sioux Center for Mrs. J. De Groot, 66.

SIOUX CENTER — Funeral services for Mrs. Johannes De Groot, 66, of Sioux Center, who died Saturday after surgery, were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Christian Reformed church in Sioux Center. Rev. B. J. Haan officiated and burial was made in
the Sioux Center cemetery.

Mrs. De Groot was born November 7, 1893, at Patterson, N. J., end moved to the Ireton vicinity at the age of 16. She was married to Johannes De Groot in 1913. Mr. De Groot died in 1954. The couple farmed near Sioux Center until 1949 when they retired and moved to town.

Survivors include a son, Peter of Maurice; four daughters Mrs. Alfred Wissink of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Eugene Wagner of Austin, Tex., Mrs. Cornelius Van Der Stelp of Sioux Center and Mrs. Marian Van Peursem of Maurice; two sisters, Mrs. Sip Eisma and Mrs. Charles Westra, both of Ireton: 14 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
