It was only about a week prior to his death, however, that was obliged to take to his bed and his condition became serious. Death resulted from blood clot on the brain.

He came to America a number of years ago and first located at Patterson, N. J. About three years ago the family moved to this vicinity and have been engaged in farming. The deceased was held in high regard by all his neighbors and was counted a good, progressive citizen.

He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his departure. The eldest child, a son about 20 years of age, will take charge and operate the farm with the assistance of his mother and the younger children. He also leaves three brothers and one sister in this country. One of the brothers resides at Orange City, another at Ireton, and the other at Estelline, S. D. The sister, Mrs. Jabaay, resides near Hawarden. The family have the sincere sympathy of all in their great affliction.
