Funeral Services For Mr. Jacob De Zeeuw, Sr., Boyden, Thursday.

Jacob De Zeeuw, son of the late Pluem [*Pleun] and Anna Van Veldhuizen-De Zeeuw was bom June 2, 1884, near Middleburg, Iowa, and passed away July 7, 1968, at the Sheldon Memorial Hospital following three years of illness at the age of 84 years, one month and five days.

He lived all his life in Sioux County in the Middleberg and Boyden area. On March 28[*?], 1910, he was united in marriage to Anna De Koning of North Dakota who passed away on August 4, 1944, and on August 21, 1951, he was united in marriage to Anna Marcus-Freeze.

He is survived by the widow, Anna and five daughters, Delia (Mrs. Henry Van Zee of St. Peters, Minn. ), Ann (Mrs. Albertus Blumeyer of Canby, Minn.), Kathryn (Mrs. Henry Oldenkamp of Bellflower, Calif. ), Margaret (Mrs. Edwin Boone), Joyce, (Mrs. Peter Smit of George) and six sons, Paul and Clifford De Zeeuw of El Paso, Texas, Jake, Jr., of Sheldon, Howard of Evansville, Wisc., Lorraine of Bellflower, Calif., Kenneth of St. Peters, Minn., and two stepchildren, Garry Freeze of Jacksonville, Fla., and Miss Sharilyn Freeze of Willmar, Minn., two sisters, Mrs. Johanna Groen and Lena (Mrs. Cornie Den Hartog of Orange City), and four brothers, Pluen [*Pleun] of Hull, Peter of Sheldon, Rufus of Holland, Minn., and William of Ruthton, Minn., beside 32 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 1968 at 1:30 p.m. at the Boyden United Presbyterian Church with Rev. W. Nickelson of the Lyon Presbyterian Church in charge of services under the arrangements of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sheldon. Burial will be at the Boyden Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Calvin Groen, Paul Den Hartog, Wesley De Zeeuw, Paul De Leeuw, Gradus Verrips and Paul De Zeeuw. Organist was Mrs. Kenneth Meyn and music was by Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Blankets, Mrs. Peter Sietstra and Wm. Rosenboom who sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Does Jesus Care".
