MRS. JAKE DE ZEEUW [*NEE ANNA DE KONING].

Mrs. Jake De Zeeuw, 51, of Boyden, passed away at 5.30 Friday morning, August 4, at her home southeast of town after a long illness with cancer. Three months ago she returned to her home after an unsuccessful operation at Rochester. For a time she seemed to be doing quite well, but for the past few weeks had been confined to her bed.

Mrs. De Zeeuw was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Klaus Koning, and was born at Westfield, N. D. on November 11, 1892. She was united in marriage March 28, 1911, at Westfield to Jake De Zeeuw, who survives her. After their marriage, they moved to Middleburg, la. where they resided for 6 years, then moved to their farm southeast of Boyden, where she lived until the time of her death. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Boyden.

To this union were born 15 children, 12 of whom survive. Those who preceded her in death were Kathryn, 5 months old, who died in 1920, an infant son, in 1921 and an infant son in 1931. Those who survive are Pleun, who is in the Armed Service in England, Klaus of Hartley, Jake jr. of Archer, Delia (Mrs. Henry Van Zee) of Kasota, Minn., Anna (Mrs. Albertus Blumeyer) of Rock Rapids, Kathryn, Margaret, Joyce, Clifford, Howard, Lorraine and Kenneth, all at home, her husband and aged mother, Mrs. Delia Millenaar of Westfield, N. D., also a sister, Klassena (Mrs. Jake VerHoeven) of Ireton, 4 half sisters Emma (Mrs. Peter Korbijn) and Lydia (Mrs. Gilbert Van Beek both of Pollock, S. D., Wilmina (Mrs. Abel Dykema) of Strasburg, N. D., and Helen Millenaar of Westfield, N. D. and 1 half brother, John Millenaar, also of Westfield, and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 12:45 at the home and 1.30 at the First Reformed Church of Boyden with Rev. J. W. Brink officiating. Mrs. Ray Smit and Mrs. Larry Salmon sang the requested number "Ivory Palaces."

Palbearers were her four sons, Jake Klaus, Howard and Lorraine and two sons-in-law Albertus Blumeyer and Henry Van Zee. Interment was made in the Boyden cemetery.

Those from far who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van Zee and family of Kasota, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Albertus Blumeyer and family of Rock Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Jake De Zeeuw and family of Archer Mr. and Mrs. Klaus De Zeeuw and children of Hartley, Mrs. Delia Millenaar, Helen Millenaar, Mrs. Peter Korbijn, all of Westfield, and many relatives of Orange City and other vicinities.
