Anna Weltge [*nee Lubbers].

Anna Marie (Lubbers) Weltge died Saturday, May 23, 1992 in Nashville, Ill. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 26 at St Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville. The Rev. Dale Bartels of Nashville and the Rev. Fred Fieker of DuQuoin, Ill., officated. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery in Nashville with the Campagna Funeral Home in charge. Anna Marie was born on Nov. 29, 1923 on a farm north of Orange City, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lubbers. Following graduation from Orange City Public School System and Northwestern, then a Junior College, she moved to Des Moines to enter the School of Nursing at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Following graduation from the School of Nursing, she was employed by Dr. Tom D. Throckmorton of Des Moines, as his surgical nurse.

On Sept. 15, 1953, Anna Marie married the Rev. Ed Weltge of Murphysboro, Ill., and together they served churches in Murphysboro, Needville, Tex.; and Nashville, Ill. Anna Marie was active in the women's organizations of the churches they served and frequently directed the choirs and served as assistant organist. She had also served on the board of the Nashville Public Library. While living in Nashville, she returned to college and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Education. She retired as school nurse in the Nashville School System several years ago when she became ill with Alzheimer's Disease.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Ed Weltge, Pastor Emeritus of St. Paul United Church of Christ; three sons, Mark and Mike of Champaign, Ill. and Marty of Fairfield, Ill.; three brothers, Roy and his wife Lois of Connersville, Ind., Willard and his wife Virginia of Spencer and Gilbert and his wife Dorothy of Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, Genevieve Lubbers of Des Moines and Dr. Ruth Foreman, presently on a teaching assignment in Hong Kong; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Bert and Lena Lubbers of Orange City; two sisters, Kathryn Royal of Denver and Elene Rensink of Connersville, Ind.; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy (Mrs. Willard) Lubbers, then residing in Paulline.
