BERNARD HENDRIK RENSINK.

Bernard Hendrik Rensink, who passed away at the R. Kamminga home on Tuesday, January 27th, was born at Aalten, Prov. Gelderland, Netherlands, in the year of 1844, and was 75 years and 4 months of age at the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Wilhelmina Johanna Goozen in the month of July of the year of 1872, his wife preceding him in death seventeen and one-half years ago. To this union there were nine children born, seven of the nine surviving their parents, the other two passed away some years ago.

The children who are left to mourn the death of their beloved father are Mrs. R. Kamminga, Boyden; Mrs. Henry Van Nyhuis, Boyden; Ben Rensink, Archer; Will Rensink, Archer; G. L. Rensink, Sheldon, Joe Rensink, Sheldon, and Gerrit Rensink of Boyden. In the year of 1889, Mr. Rensink, together with his family came to
America, landing at Alton, Iowa, In the fall of the same year he commenced farming four miles northeast of Boyden. It was while they were living on this farm that Mrs. Rensink passed away. Deceased retired from the farm nine years ago and spent the last years of his life living with his children, five years of which were spent at the Mr. and Mrs. R. Kamminga home. Mr. Rensink was a devout member of the Reformed church of Boyden, where he served for twenty years as elder and member of the consistory. He was a man of sterling Christian Character, and at all times, and under all circum-stances, he walked in the well beaten path of righteousness and when fully conscious that he was nearing the last of earth, he appeared to be fully impressed with the idea that at the end of time eternity began, and that the bright faith which sustained during those trying hours of suffering would only grow brighter and brighter as he journeyed toward the Infinite, and the final gloom of death he dispelled by the radiance of God's love.

Mr. Rensink lived an upright life and died in his trusting faith. He inspired no terror in death and his sorrowing family looked forward with the same eye of faith to the brighter future where his temporary separation would end in an eternal reunion. The funeral services for the deceased were held last Thursday afternoon at the Reformed church, with Rev. Vander Naald of Sheldon, and Dr. W. T. McConnell of Boyden officiating. Interment was made in the Boyden cemetery northwest of town.
