WILLIAM VANDEN EYNDEN
William "Shorty" Vanden Eynden, 89, of Orange City, died Saturday, February 28, in a hospital at Orange City of long illness.

Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the First Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Thomas C. Vanden Hcuvel officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.

Mr. Vanden Eynden was born Nov. 28, 1891, in the Netherlands. He came to the United States in 1916. He married Maggie Fikse May 28, 1923, at Hancock, Minn. She died May 20, 1967. He came to Orange City from South Dakota and was employed as
sexton at the West Lawn Cemetery and custodian at the Sioux County Courthouse until his retirement. He had lived at Heritage House for the last six years.

Mr. Vander Eynden was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. Survivors include nieces and nephews.
