William F. Emmers, 88, of Hawarden died Sept 14 at a Hawarden Hospital.
Services were at 3 p.m. Sept 16 at the Dow Fruneral HOme in Hawarden. The Rev. Herbert Young pastor of the Associated Chruch officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Emmers was bron Oct 14, 1896 at Peoria, IL. He moved to South Dakota as a child with his parents.
He married arriet Collins Jan 11, 9123 at Fresno CA. He attended barber college at Minneapolis and was emplyed as barber in Minneapolis. Hawarden and Alcester SD until 1929. He then woned and operated the Hawarden Recreation Parlor until 1963.
In 1953, he was employed as park custodian by the City of Hawarden. He retired in 1967.
Survivors include the widow, a son William Jr of Hudson SD, a daughter Mrs. Creigman Voilet Wegner of Hawarden; Two brothers George Amet of Lake Norden SD, and Jack Ames of Canton; two sisters Mrs. Ealph Ethel Brown of Center M_. and Mrs. Stella Grapes of Lake Norden; six grandchildren and a great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden at 3 P.M. September 16, for William F. Emmers, 88, of Hawarden, who died at the Hawarden hospital September 14.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Herbert Yount, pastor of the Associated Church in Hawarden, and burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Emmers was born Oct. 14, 1886 at Peoria, Ill. He moved to South Dakota as a child with his parents He married Harriet Collins Jan. 11, 1923 at Fresno, California.
He attended Barber College at Minneapolis and was employed as a barber in Minneapolis, Hawarden, and Alcester, S.D. until 1939. He then owned and operated the Hawarden Recreation Parlor until 1953.
