Hawarden Independent, December 30, 1926

Mrs. W. A. Bonney, an old time resident of this section, passed away Saturday in a Sioux City hospital following an illness of three months. Mrs. Bonney and her husband were living at Martin, SD and when her condition grew steadily worse she was brought to Sioux City in order that she might have the best of care. She entered the hospital last Wednesday but it was known at that time that her condition was very serious.

Caroline Koepp was born at Watertown, Wis, in 1863 and so was 63 years old at the time of her death. When she was nine years old she came to Iowa with her parents who located at Akron. She lived at Akron for many years but for several years she lived with her family at Chatsworth. About a year ago Mr. & Mrs. Bonney moved to Casper, Wyo. where they lived a short time and they then moved to Crawford, Neb. They recently moved to Martin, SD. Mrs. Bonney was a quiet, unassuming lady, well liked by all who knew her and she will be missed by many outside the family circle. She is survived by her husband, three sons, Mahlon, Homer and Roscoe, and three daughters, Mrs. Carl Humphrey; Mrs. William Schjolberg and Mrs. Robert Lawrence. She also leaves one brother, George Koepp of Ogden, Utah, and one sister, Mrs. J. E. Niles of Crawford, Neb.

Funeral services were held at Sioux City, Tuesday afternoon and interment was made there. Many old time friends from Chatsworth attended the funeral.
