Funeral services for Winnie Bolkema, 89, of Inwood were held Saturday in the Christian Reformed Church in Inwood. The Rev. David Smit officiated with interment in Hospers Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home in Inwood was in charge of arrangements.

She died Wednesday, September 16, 1987 in a nursing home in Rock Valley.

Winnie DeBoer was born June 29, 1898 in Hospers where she attended school. She married John Bolkema, February 12, 1920 in Hospers. The couple farmed near Archer, Sanborn, Hartley, Holland, MN; Rock Valley and from 1951 to 1954 at Inwood. They retired in 1954 and moved into Inwood. She had been a resident of the Valley Manor Nursing Home since 1986.

She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church and past member of the Ladies Aid of the church.

Survivors include her husband: five sons, Kenneth of Edgerton, MN; Marvin of Ocheyedan; John of Hull; LeRoy of Rock Valley, and Norman of Tempe, AZ; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Veltkamp of Rock Valley and Mrs. Arvid (Johanna) Van Gelderen of Melvin; 23 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
