Died at his home near Middleburg last Sunday night Dick Van Doorn (Ver Doorn) aged seventy three years.

(This was Dick VerDoorn born 22 Dec 1826 Genderen N. B. Neth. He came to USA in 1887 married 28 Apr 1859 Wijk, NB. Neth. and died May 1, 1904 Middleburg IA. He was married to Anneken Van Helden b. 17 Jan 1823 Wijk, and died Dec 30, 1899 Capel Tsp. near Middleburg Ia. His parents were Joost VerDoorn and Maria Ziezolt. Children were. Joseph 1868-1936, Benjamin 1862-1943, Maria 1864-1933, Elsje 1865 - 1936 and Wilhelmus 'William' 1867-1954. He was living with Wm's family in the 1900 census.)
