Tim Dykstra, 93, Orange City died Sunday Oct. 31, at Orange City Hospital Long-Term Care Facility. Service were Wednesday, Nov 3, at Frist Christian Reformed in Orange City, with the Rev. Timothy Ouwinga officiating. Burial was at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, under direction of OolmanFuneral Home in Orange City.

Tim Dykstra son of Dick and Jennie (Meinders) Dykstra was born March 6, 1911, in Oskaloosa. He was raised in northwest Iowa mostly in the Sheldon area and attended a country school near Hospers. He married Alyce Postma on Dec. 23, 1936 in Sheldon. They farmed on several farms in northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota. They moved in 1966 into Orange City, where he was employed at Vogel Paint Company. Mrs. Dykstra died May 27 1997 in Orange City. He became a resident of Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City in 1966. He transferred to Orange City Hospital Long-Term Care Facility on Oct. 19, 2004. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, where he had served on the consistory and participated in the Men’s Bible Study. He enjoyed fishing. Playing card and drinking coffee with his friends

Survivors include two sons, Richard C. and Norman Dykstra of Sioux Falls, SD, and Donald and Albertha Dykstra of Cerritos, CA; two daughters Margaret and Jim Polen of Middleville MI, and Linda and Stanley Korver of Alton; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and a step sister Esther Hoekstra of Edgerton, MN

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alyce Dykstra; two sisters, Pauline Heritage Schoor and Jennie Haley; two stepbrother, Jerry Vander Pol and Gerrit Vander Pol; and a stepsister, Tillie Vander Pol
