Mrs. Nell Dykstra, 87, of Orange City died Friday Jan. 1995, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m., today at the VanEtten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City with the Rev. Willis Vander Kooi officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City

Mrs. Dykstra was born April 1907, in Orange City, the daughter of Mike and Mary (Groen) Westra. She was raised in the Orange City and graduated from the Orange City High School in 1925. She attended Sheldon Teacher College and taught in county schools. On Jan. 18, 1935, she married Lester A Dykstra at Slayton, MN. The couple made their home in Orange City where she was a sales clerk in several retail stores. Mr. Dykstra died in 1970 in Orange City. After a short stay at Valley Manor in Rock Valley, she became a resident of the Heritage House in Orange City in February 1992. Mrs. Dykstra was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City.

Survivors include a son, Fred and his wife Betty of Orange City. She was also preceded in death by a sister Jennie Westra and three brothers Henry, John and Mike Wesrtra
