Evert (Ed) Van Hunnick
Evert (Ed) Van Hunnick, 87. Died Tuesday, August 28. Funeral services were Friday, August 31, at 1:30 p.m. at Pioneer United Methodist Church at Rock Valley, the Rev. Ron Johnson officiating.

Van Hunnick was born October 26, 1902, in The Netherlands. He came to the United States with his family in 1909. He lived his youth on farms near Ireton and Colton, South Dakota, and attended country school.

He married Mary Clara Studer on February 27. 1926, in Orange City. The couple farmed west of Rock Valley and moved into town in 1964. She died March 15, 1983. He was a fellowship member of Pioneer United Methodist Church for many years.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Alice Hemmingson of Madison, South Dakota; two sisters, Minnie Vander Vliet of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, and Dena Van Liere of Colton; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
