February 21, 1920—November 12, 1997
Alice Vande Weerd, 77, of Orange City died Wednesday, November 12, at the Heritage Home in Orange City. Services were Saturday at Presbyterian Church in Hospers, with the Rev. Brian Janssen officiating. Burial was at East Memorial Cemetery.

Miss Vande Weerd was born on February 21, 1920. near Alton, the daughter of John and Hattle (Hulst) Vande Weerd. She attended country school near Alton.

She taught Sunday school, catechism and Vacation Bible. School. She was a member of the Ruth Circle and a nurse's aid for 22 years.

Survivors Include a brother and his wife, Harold and Dorothy of Alton; three sisters and their husbands, Anneta and Don Lammers of Alton. Harriet and Albert Kooiker of Hull and Tracia and Dick Morren of Beresford, South Dakota; two sisters-in-law, Hermlne Vande Weerd of Orange City and Clara Vande Weerd of Bruce, South Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bert and Nick.

Pallbearers were Michael Morren, Greg Lammers, Mark Kooiker, Richard and David Vande Weerd and Darwin De Vries. Gilbert Kuhl
