Gerrit Jan Overeem
Gerrit Jan Overeem, 80, died Thursday, February 4, in a Sioux Center hospital.
Funeral services were Monday, February 8, at Netherlands Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. John Den Hoed officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Overeem was born February 1, 1908, in The Netherlands. He lived his youth and attended school in The Netherlands. He came to the United States in 1948..He married Ella Marie
Schelling February 27,1951, in Sioux Center. They lived in the Orange City and Sioux Center areas. He was a member of Netherlands Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Margriet Olson of Orange City, Henrietta Leeney of Iowa City, Janis Van Foort of Rock Valley, Cory Overbeek of Sioux Center and Patty
Nieuwendorp of Ashton; two sisters, Janis Van Ginkel and Hendrien Van Baren, both of The Netherlands; and 16 grandchildren.
