Gilbert Otten, 78, of Alcester, died Wednesday, March 19, 1986, at his home in Alcester.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, in the Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden. Rev. Marvin Van Der Vliet officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Alcester under direction of Wass Funeral Home at Alcester.

Mr. Otten was born March 1, 1908, in Holland and came to the United States in 1919. He farmed east of Hawarden and married Ann De Yager July 26, 1935, in Doon. The couple
farmed east of Hawarden until 1938 when they moved to a farm northwest of Alcester. In 1984, they retired and moved to Alcester.

Survivors include his wife; three brothers, Mike of Alcester and John and Dick, both of Akron; three sisters, Mrs. Vernon (Bertha) Earll and Anna Otten, both of Inwood, and Mrs. Virgil (Cornelia) Peterson, of Hawarden.
