Johannes Ripmeester, 85, of Jenison, Mich, died Jan. 11,1994. Services were held Jan. 14 at the Matthysse and Kuiper Funeral Home at Grandville, Mich. The Rev. Kenneth Westrate of the 8th Reformed Church officiated. Interment was at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Johannes came to Orange City from the Netherlands in January, 1952 to work as a linotype operator at the Capital. On June 26, 1952 he married Cornelia Van Citters of Orange City. They moved to Michigan in October, 1956.

Survivors include his wife, Cornelia; his brother and sister-in-law, H.J. and Johanna Ripmeester of the Netherland; his brother-in-law, Gerrit den Hollander of Jenison; sister-in-law, Alice Van Citters of Orange City; and nieces and nephews
