Obituary of Rutger Rikkers Who Passed Away May 12, Mr. Rutger Rikkers was born at Nunspeet Neth, May 4, 1854 and died May 12, 1931 at the age of 77 years and 8 days. In 1894 he came to this county and was married to Jannetje Stall/Staal. They settled on a farm south of Hull where they resided until moving to Hull a few months ago.

To this union eight children were born. Those surviving the deceased are his wife and the eight children: Bertha, Mrs. L. C. Van Batavia; Bert; Gertie Mrs. L. H. Brunsting; Winnie Mrs. Wm. Gunnink; Jeanette Mrs. A. M. Brunsting; and Johanna Mrs. Bernard Moss of Hull; Richard of Rock Rapids and Margaret at home. There are also eleven grandchildren. He is also survived by on brother and one sister in the Netherlands. One of his sisters was Mrs. H. J. Drost of Austin MN, who preceded him in death exactly two years ago.

The funeral was held last Friday afternoon from the First Reformed church at Hull conducted by Rev. G. H Douwstra and in both languages. (Obit goes on to list the out of town attendees.)
