Art Vanden Brink, son of Art and Nel (De Vries) Vanden Brink, passed away at the Sheldon hospital October 31, at the age of 76. He was born August 13, 1901 in Boyden, Iowa, and attended Boyden and Hull public schools. On May 3, 1923, he was united in marriage to Ella Jantzen. They lived in Boyden for 27 years where they owned a restaurant and grocery business, before moving to Sheldon in 1949. He and his son operated Van's Furniture from 1951 to 1974. He was a member of Bethel Reformed Church.
Survivors include his son, Warren of Sheldon, daughter-in-law Shirley, four grandchildren, Ronald, Larry, David, and Linda Vanden Brink , 1 great granddaughter Brandy Jo Ella, and 1 sister, Dora Vanden Brink of Springfield, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 3 brothers.
