Steve Vanden Brink Jr, 74, of Sioux Center, IA, died Saturday May 10, 1997, at the Sioux Center
Community Health Center in Sioux Center, following a lengthy bout with diabetes.
He was born to Steven and Jennie (Van Ravenswaay) Vanden Brink on January 25, 1923 in Ireton, IA. Steve received his education from the country school near Ireton. He married Tillie Mulder on February 6, 1952 in Orange City, IA. They lived near Sioux Center and later near Boyden, IA, where they were involved with dairy farming. They retired in 1984 and moved to
Sioux Center. Steve moved to Sioux Center Nursing Facility on March 11, 1997. He was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church. He enjoyed collecting toys, horse/wagon sets, and fishing.
Survivors include; his wife; son: Daryl and his wife Melinda Vanden Brink, of Sioux Center; daughter: Carol and her husband Roger Van Voorst of Sioux Center; three grandchildren: Greg, Stephanie and Shelley Van Voorst; three step-grandchildren: Rusty, Emily, and Randy Keith; two brothers and their wives: John & Henrietta and Richard & Lavina all of Sioux Center; three sisters: Henrietta and Gertrude Vanden Brink both of Sioux Center, and Josie Keodam of
Larchwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter (Lorilea), five brothers and sisters in infancy.
