Mrs. Mary Margaret Schmitz, 86, passed away Dec. 22, 1976 at the Slayton Manor, Slayton, Minn., where she had been a resident for the past seven years.

Mrs. Schmitz was born March 23, 1890 at Bellvue, Ia. She lived there until her marriage to Michael Schmitz at Oyens, Iowa. Feb. 17, 1909. Following their marriage they lived at Le Mars, Ia. In 1919 they moved to Howard, S.D. and to Slayton, Minn. in 1934. In 1949 they retired from farming moving to Le Mars, Ia. In 1960 they moved to Currie, Minn. Mr. Schmitz passed away Jan. 19, 1975.

Mrs. Schmitz was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Currie, Minn., the Altar Society and Christian Mothers.

Survivors are seven children, one of them being Mrs. Vince Puhl of Chatsworth. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 daughter Clara and a son, Laurence, an infant daughter, Marie, three sisters and 1 brother.

Services were held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Friday, Dec. 24, 1976.
