Jennie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Vermeer, was born on August 29,1892 at Sioux
Center, Iowa. She attended school and lived her youth in Sioux Center. She was united in marriage to Gerrit L. Vande Berg of Sioux Center, Iowa on January 27, 1915 at Sioux Center. Their married life was lived on a farm Northeast of Sioux Center, moving to Sioux Center in 1943. Mr. Vande Berg passed away on January 25, 1975. She passed away on Thursday, April 29,1982 at the Sioux Center Hospital Nursing Wing at the age of eighty-nine years and eight months.
She is survived by her children; Geraldine (Mrs. John Wynia) of Phoenix, Arizona; Priscilla
(Mrs. John Zeutenhorst) of Sioux Center, Iowa; Louise (Mrs. Harold Punt) of Maurice, Iowa;
Gertrude (Mrs. Edward T. Jansen) of Sioux Center, Iowa; Lowell of Sioux Center, Iowa;
eighteen grandchildren; thirty-four greatgrandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren
and one sister, Mrs. James Hollander of Sioux Center, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Martin (Jeanne) Punt, four
brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center Iowa.
