Leonard Van Otterloo died Friday morning, August 31st, 1945, at the age of 40 years and 8 months after a long illness, which dated from some time before his operation which occurred in Oct., 1944.

He is survived by his wife and two; sons, Harold James and Leonard, Junior; his mother, Mrs. John Van Otterloo, a sister, Mrs. Steven Van Otterloo of Orange City. His father preceded him in death.

He was born Jan. 1, 1905 at Rock Valley. His wife is the former Catherine Duistermars whom he married in Grand Rapids, Mich., fifteen years ago, and moved to a farm south, of Sioux Center for a year. Later they moved to town where he became a mechanic. He was engaged in this work until his illness made it impossible for him to work.

Last rites were held Monday, Sept. 3rd at the home and First Christian Reformed Church, of which he was a member. Rev. B. J. Haan officiated.
