Mrs. Niehaus Dies At Age of 89

Relatives received word Sunday of the death of Mrs. Matilda Niehaus, 89, at Sioux Falls, sister of Miss Hannah Zimmerman and Mrs. Bertha Struck of Ireton.

Mrs. Niehaus was born at Nokomis, Illinois, December 12, 1876. She was married in 1904 to August Niehaus who died several years ago.

She is survived by three daughters, Helen (Mrs. Lester Froke) of Sioux Falls, Gertrude (Mrs. Paul McCleary) of Granada, Minn., and Ella (Mrs. Harlan Gronewald) of Granada, Minn. Her son, Arthur died February 18, 1961.

Also surviving are two sisters, Miss Hannah Zimmerman and Mrs. Bertha Struck of Ireton, seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran church at Fairmont, Minn. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery at Fairmont.

Miss Zimmerman had visited her from Wednesday until Saturday. Mrs. Niehaus and daughter brought her home Saturday and she visited her sisters. They left for Sioux Falls in the afternoon. Saturday night she had a heart attack and died early Sunday morning
