MRS. ALBERT LEIFF ANSWERED CALL THANKSGIVING DAY
Was 55 years Old and Lived in the Big Springs Community Many Years Funeral Held Sunday
Mrs. Albert Leiff, who resided several miles southwest of Hawarden, answered the final summons early Thanksgiving morning, death coming as a sweet release after many weeks of intense suffering from cancer. Her marvelous amount of grit and a strong desire to overcome the malady, and be well again kept her up and about so she was hardly bedfast but in spite of her courage the disease finally won in the struggle: for -supremacy.

Minnie Peterson was born at Kiron, Iowa, Feb. 16, 1879, and she passed away Nov. 29, 1934, having attained the age of 55 years, 9 months and 13 days. She spent her early life at Kiron and in 1907 the family moved to the Big Springs community , and for a number of years she resided on. The family farm now occupied by her sister Sarah and brothers, Axel and Emil Peterson.

On April 14, 1910, she united with the Big Springs Baptist church and remained an interested and consecrated member until her death. On April 23, 1914, she was united in marriage with, Albert Leiff and together they built up and enjoyed the fine farm home now occupied by , the family. She had a fine talent for home making and took great pride and joy in keeping it beautiful even up to the last weeks of her illness. Though she wanted to get well she was resigned to the will of the Heavenly Father, who knew what was best for her and she was willing and anxious to go to be in the home where sickness and pain could never again touch her. The immediate family who are left to mourn are her husband, who cared devotedly for her, sparing neither time nor expense in efforts to improve her, health; two nieces, Fern and Florence Peterson, to whom she had been a real mother, lavishing all the love 'and care she would have given children of her own, also Grandma Leiff and a nephew, Lloyd Johnson, who all will miss the tender ministrations of the competent hands now stilled in death. She is also survived by one sister, Sarah Peterson, and three brothers, Axel, Francis and Emil Peterson, all of Big Springs; two nieces, lone and Marilyn Peterson, and- a nephew, Alvin Peterson.

Her father, mother, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at the home and at the Big Springs Baptist church Sunday afternoon, with Rev. B. L. Carlton of Worthington, Minn., in charge. The church was filled with relatives and friends who came to pay their last respects to the memory of this good friend and neighbor and loved one. She was laid to rest in the Big Springs cemetery and although snow may cover the beloved spot, her memory will be kept green by the good deeds of her life.
