Funeral services for Rolland Ira Eldredge , 76, of Rock Valley were held at two o’clock Saturday afternoon, March 27, at the Vander Ploeg Funeral home. He died Saturday March 19, at Mojave, Calif. Rev Mervin Nelson officiated at the services and burial was in Valley View cemetery in Rock Valley.

Mr. Eldredge was born May 4, 1883, and lived most of his life at Rock Valley, his father Ira E.Eldredge , being an early merchant there. For many years he carried the mail to the depot and served as handyman at the post office. He also worked as deliveryman for stores. His father passed away in 1943 and his mother died while he was young.

A sister, Luthera, Mrs. Boyd Thornburg, also preceded him in death. He is survived by a nephew Robert Thornburg and his family
