From the Alton Democrat of Oct 5, 1901 Carnes news.
Mr. and Mrs. Berkhold's three year old son died a week ago Wednesday of Dyphtheria. The funeral occurred on Friday afternoon.
(No evidence of a Berkhold family could be found in the area during that time period. The spelling of the name could be in error. If anyone has a clue as to the identity of this family please contact our page coordinator.)
