Anna Kragt, 92, of Rock Valley died Wednesday, December 31, at the Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Harlan De Jong officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.
Mrs. Kragt was born January 26, 1905, near Hull, the daughter of Peter and Johanna Wiersma) Brouwer. She attended Christian Grade School and graduated from Western Christian Academy in Hull. She receiving normal training in Orange City and taught school at Sioux Center, Perkins and rural Hull. She married John Kragt in 1931 at Hull. The couple lived in Little Rock, Hull, George, Melvin and Doon before moving to Rock Valley In 1946. The couple were tour directors with Allied Tour Company from 1964 to the mid 1980s. She also taught piano and accompanied many musical groups. He died
January 8, 1990.
Survivors include five sons and their wives. Dr. Edwin and Mina of Rock Rapids, Dr. Preston and Mary Lee of Sebring, Florida, Dr. Harvey and Elaine of Colfax. Washington, Dr. Joel and Karen of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Dr. John and Pamela of Spirit Lake; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, William and her twin Richard Brouwer; and a sister, Gertrude Juflfer.
