Died, at his home near Carnes, John Cambier, at the age of 58 years, 2 months, 22 days, after an illness of over a year. He was born in Zeeland, Holland, Nov. 9, 1842, and came to America in 1867, resided in New York for 16 years. Mr. Cambier came to Sioux county in 1883 with his wife and six children, Jacob, Susie, Peter, Nellie, now Mrs. E. Scholten, Jennie and John. One child died in New York in 1882 at the age of 14; the rest are all living and were present at the bedside when death occurred. Mr. Cambier was a highly respected citizen and his loss will be deeply felt in that community

They were married Jul 4, 1867 Elmira NewYork. Children were – Jacob 1868, Mary 1869, Susan 1873, Peter 1875, Nellie 1877, Anna 1880 and John 1882.)
