THE HERALD is sorry to chronicle the death of Mrs. F. De Jong, which occurred yesterday afternoon. The afflictions of the De Jong family have been .frequently mentioned in these columns. Mrs. De Jong watched by the bedside of her daughter and little grandchild for weeks, almost day and night, in their almost hopeless struggle with typhoid fever, until she was attacked by the disease and compelled to take her bed. In her worn out and weakened condition the disease made rapid headway on her frail constitution, until the end came as above. Deceased was about sixty years of age; was a Christian, and a faithful wife and loving parent, and will be much missed. The funeral occurred from the Christian Reformed church this afternoon.
