MR. JACOB ARIE VAN MABEL JR.. 56 years of age. died Sunday, , at the St. Joseph Hospital, Sioux City, Iowa, following a brief illness. Mr. Van Marel was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Van Marel. He was born near Orange City, Iowa, on Dec. 31. 1907. He lived in Sioux County all his life. On June 23, 1933 at Sioux Center, Iowa, he married Johanna Doornink and to this union one daughter was born. Mr. and Mrs. Van Marel farmed west of Sioux Center until moving into SiouxCenter on Jan. 27, 1964.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
Surviving- besides the widow are his daughter Delma Jean and his mother, Mrs. Jacob Van Marel, who lives in Orange City, Iowa. He also leaves five sisters, Henrietta Riphagen of Grand Rapids, Mich., Irene (Mrs. William Te Slaa) of Hull, Iowa, Mabel (Mrs. Fred W. Cleveringa) of Sioux Center, Gertrude (Mrs. Gerrit Te Slaa) of Orange City, Cynthia (Mrs. Clarence W. Cleveringa) of Sioux Center, and three brothers, Arie of Steen, Minn., William of Orange City and Irwin of Maurice, Ia. Mr. Van Marel was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center
