Sioux Center News, November 18, 1937

Lute Brommer, 75, one time Sioux Center resident, passed away on Oct. 30 from a heart attack which occurred while he was riding in a car with his daughter, Anne Roorda, in the vicinity of their home at Hynes, Calif.

Mr. Brommer was a farmer in this community some fifteen years or more and resided in town for a few years. He built the house which Walter Baas recently sold to Amos Vander Wilt, and had a wide circle of friends in and around Sioux Center.

Last April, his wife preceded him in death and since that time life held very little for Mr. Brommer. Late the past summer he was here visiting his sons James and Martin and although they wanted him to stay here with them, he wished to go back to his home in California. He passed away there October 30th.

Funeral services were held in the Holland Church with Rev. Cook and Rev. Cloo officiating. Interment took place in the cemetery at Artesia, Calif.

Survivors are four children, Peter and Anne Roorda of Hynes, Calif., and James and Martin of Sioux Center.
