Died Lena, wife of Fredrick Leffers, at the age of 42. years and 3 months, of consumption, on April 17 at her home in Harrison, S. D. Deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Nieuwendorp, who reside just west of town; was married to Mr. Leffers. 17 years ago, six children have blessed their union—the eldest of whom is sixteen and the youngest two years.
Her sufferings for the past year have been intense, but were uncomplainingly born, with a Christian fortitude. Her funeral was the largest ever held at Harrison, and was conducted by the Rev. Van Wyngarden from the Christian Reformed church, of which the deceased was a most devoted member. Besides the bereaved husband and children, she leaves her father and mother and a large family of relatives in Sioux county to mourn her demise.
