J. L. Bouma, 72, died Saturday January 22, at the Pioneer Memorial Home
o'clock a. m. Orange City Mr. Bouma had been ailing for some time suffering from the effects of a paralytic stroke. He suffered a heart" attack
Saturday from which he failed to rally.
He was born in Friesland, The Netherlands in 1866. He came to America in 1889 and settled on a farm. He was married in 1890 to Miss Akke Ottema. She died in 1901. Later he was married to Mrs. John Porter who died in 1928.
One daughter, Edith died in 1920 and Agnes died in 1934. he is survived by three sons, Lou of Chicago, IL.; Nick of Orange City and Jake of Pocahontas. Other er survivors are three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. P. Vander Veen in Friesland, Netherlands.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Van Etten funeral home with the Rev. Mr. R Bronkema officiating. Interment at Orange City cemetery
