DRUYVESTEYN, DRUYVESTEIN, DRUIJVESTEIJN, VERHOEF

F. C. W. Druyvestein died at his home a mile and a half north of Alton Wednesday morning February ninth 1910 at ten thirty o'clock from diabetes at the age of sixty years and four months and twentyone days. Deceased was born in Arkmaar Nederlands and came to America thirty-six years ago. He had lived in Sioux county for nearly that period. Thirty-one years ago he was married--on what is now the Ruish place a mile west of Alton--to Miss Adriana Ver Hoef. Eight children were born to them and all are living. The mother met death thirteen years ago in an accident--being so severely burned that she could not live.

Deceased was an educated man and a Christian and had the respect of all who knew him. Four of his children are married and have homes of their own. They are Mrs. James Schuller of Alton, Mrs. Barker of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Nick Ketel of Perkins and Herman Druyvestein of Doon. The other children are at home.

Funeral services were held at the Alton Reformed church by Rev. Van Duine on Saturday afternoon at onethirty and interment was made in the cemetery at Orange City.
