Clifford Cox, 75, of rural Hawarden died July 28 at his home.

Services were at 10 a.m., August 2 at the Big Springs Baptist Church near Alcester, SD. The Rev. Kenneth Lewis officiated. Burial was in Big Springs Cemetery under direction of the Wass Funeral Home of Alcester.

Mr. Cox was born June 15, 1901 in Union County, South Dakota. He was the son of Louis & Mary Lindgren Cox. He became a baptized member of the Big Springs Baptist Church on October 10, 1920. He received his education in the Ring rural school and Alcester High School and farmed during all his life southeast of Alcester.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Edward and Byron. He is survived by several cousins.
