Mrs. Elizabeth Perlot, a well loved resident of Alton since 1919, died Saturday, November 18 at the LeMars hospital,where she had been a patient for 15 months. She suffered a stroke Nov. 7 which was the immediate cause of her death.
She was 86 years of age.
Elizabeth Haupert was born Feb. 23, 1875 to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Haupert and lived a child in the Granville and Alton vicinity. She was married
to Matthew Perlot Feb. 12 at St. Joseph church in Granville.
The couple farmed near Granville for 5 years, then at Adrrian, Minn, for several years, moving in 1905 to the far Northwest where they lived in
the Portland, Oregon vicinity and at Kennewick, Wash, until 1919. In that year they returned to Sioux Counity and made their home in Alton. Mr.
Perlot died in 1954.
Survivinig are a son, Leonard of Porbland, Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. John Hellberg of Oregon City. Ore., and Mrs. Otto P. Kettler of Alton; two sisters, Mrs. RoSe Ahlers and Mrs. Mary Perlot, both of Granville; l5 grandchildren and 2l great grandchildren. Two sons died in infancy; 1 brother and 2 sisters preceded Mrs. Perlot in death.
Rosaries were recited Sunday evening, Monday afternoon and evening, with funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday from St. Mary's Catholic church, Msgr. Zeno Reising officiating, and interment in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. Perlot was a meimber of St. Mary's Rosary society, devoted to her family and church and never too busy to take time for a kind deed.
Arriving Tuesday were her sons Leonard and daughter Mrs. Hellberg from Oregon, and, three grandsons including Bernard Kettler, his wife and
daughter of Peoria, IL., John Kettler of Madison, Wis. and Edward of lowa State University,Ames. Relatives frcm Minnesota and South Dakota were also expected for the rites.
