Rock Valley - Hattie DeWit, 85, of Rock Valley died Saturday, February 16, 1991, at the Valley Manor Nursing Home of Rock Valley, following a long illness.

Services were held on Tuesday at the First Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley. Rev. C. Eric Fennema officiating. Burial at the Valley View Cemetery of Rock Valley under the direction of Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley.

Hattie De Wit was born May 17, 1905, at Downs, Kansas. She moved with the family to the Rock Valley area in 1917. She worked in the homes of various Rock Valley families. Hattie moved to the Valley Manor June 29, 1987.

Survivong relatives include two brothers, Joe De Wit of Rock Valley and Henry De Wit of Inwood, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Anne Kooima of Rock Valley; nieces and nephews. Hattie was a daughter of the late John & Marjorie (Boxum) De Witt
