Death of Hendrik Visser.
On Saturday afternoon at 15 minutes to six Hendrik Visser departed from this life, at his home in this city. Deceased was well known to every one in the town and surrounding country, and had lived in this town since 1883. He was born in the Netherlands, May 12th, 1841, and leaves two sons, the Visser Bros., furniture dealers in this town, one daughter, Mrs. Moret of Boyden, Iowa, and a widow to mourn his loss. While in the Netherlands he was for a long time a grenadier of the King's Life Guards, and after an honorable discharge from that service he worked in Amsterdam until he emigrated to this country. He was a man of sterling honesty, and lived a quiet Christian life, that made him respected by all. The funeral services were held from the First Reformed church on Monday at 2 p. m. and were well attended. The cause of his death was heart failure and lung trouble. The surviving family has the heartfelt sympathy of this entire community in their great loss.
