Richard Herman, 6, Dies Sunday
lemophilia Is Fatal to Local Boy at Iowa City Hospital
Richard Raymond Herman, six-yearold son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond R. Herman, died Sunday of hemophilia which developed as he was being prepared for an operation on his spleen.

Death came at Children's hospital, Iowa City. The lad been in the community hospital here for two weeks, but was taken to Iowa City Friday by his parents. They returned here Saturday night, and received word of his death Sunday.

Richard was born July 18, 1935, in Hawarden. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Ross Funeral Home, with burial in Grace Hill cemetery. Mrs. F. Panska, pastor of the Pentecostal church, officiated.

Richard is survived by his parents, a sister, Lois, 9 years old; a brother David, 3; three of his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Herman of Hawarden and Mrs. Maud Long of Leeds; and many aunts and uncles
