Death Follows Lingering Illness
John Hendricks passed away at his home in Chatsworth Tuesday morning following a lingering illness of over three months from cancer of the bladder. About three months ago he submitted to an operation in the hospital at Akron and at that time the seriousness of his illness was learned. Death came as a relief to his constant suffering since his return home from the hospital.

John Hendricks was born at Lawton, Mich., Dec. 4, 1864, and died Aug. 2, 1927, having reached the age of 62 years, 7 months and 28 days. He was united in marriage with Amanda Davis May 30, 1885, and to this union were born thirteen children. In 1888 he came west and settled in Cherokee county where he lived until Sept. 10, 1893, when he came to Union county, locating on a farm southwest of Chatsworth. He retired from active farming in 1920 and moved to Chatsworth.

He is survived by his widow and all thirteen children, Ernest, Mrs. John Skogrman, Mrs. David Skogman, John Jr., Mrs. Ed. Johnson, Mrs. George Crow, Charles, Floyd, Vern and Vera of Chatsworth; Arthur of Bonesteel, S. D.; Mose of Hawarden; and Everett of Akron. He also leaves two brothers, Gus Hendricks and Mose Hendricks of Bonesteel, S. D., and 23 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this morning at 10 o'clock at the Catholic church in Hawarden, Rev. Fr. Casey of Akron being in charge. Interment was made in the Hawarden cemetery
