Mrs. Holmdal Of Alcester Succumbs
Funeral services for Mrs. John Holmdal, 75,' long time Alcester resident ,who - died Friday at the Hawarden hospital, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Lutheran church, Rev. Nels Bergstrom officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Alcester.
Mrs. Holmdal was born November 15, 1882, in Sweden, She was married in Sioux City in 1911. She resided on a farm near Alcester many years. A few years ago she and her husband retired and moved to Alcester.
Survivors include the widower; a son, Henry of near Alcester; two daughters, Mrs. Noel Hershey of Niles, Mich., and Mrs. Albert Durig of Sioux City; two stepsons, Carl in Sweden and Albert . of Sioux City; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Harold B. Hammerstrom of Sioux City and four grandchildren. Mrs. Henry Holmdal is a Hawarden girl, the former Beverly Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Smith.
