Theodore Schreur
April 12, 1902----January 28, 1961
Funeral services for Theodore Schreur, 58, who died Saturday at the- Panska Nursing home after suffering for some time from a heart ailment, were held at 2 o' dock Tuesday, January 31, 1961 afternoon at the Community Reformed church, Rev. Austin E. Atwood officiating.
Interment was at Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.
Mr. Schreur was born on April 2, 1902 at Maurice, Iowa: He married Jeanette Bolluyt of Hawarden, February 10, 1926 and the couple farmed for a number of years in the Maurice vicinity. They moved to the Hawarden area in 1939 where he farmed until the last ten
years when he then worked for the Hawarden Block and Silo company and later sold feeds.
After the death of his wife in June, 1956, he made his home with is daughter, Mrs. Donald Nelson. He was hospitalized with a serious heart condition here from December 3 until December 24, when he returned home. He had been suffering from the illness for the past six years. He became critically ill and was taken to the Panska Nursing home Thursday where he died a couple of days later.
Survivors include a son, Tony, of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Albert Hamersma and. Mrs. Donald Nelson, both of Hawarden; three sisters, Mrs Dick De Jong of Maurice, Mrs. Bert Bolluyt of Hawarden, and Mrs. Norman Ostendahl of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Nelson Schreur of Hull, and nine grandchildren.
