Hull - Mrs. Lammert Van Sloten of Hull, formerly Jannetje Humme, passed away at her home Friday, February 5th. She was born in The Netherlands, September 1, 1871, and came to Iowa with her parents at an early age. She was married to Ben Ruisch and to this union were born three daughters, one of whom died in infancy. Her husband also preceded her in death. She was married to Lammert Van Sloten, January 21, 1904, and they commemorated their golden wedding anniversary January 21. A few days after the anniversary, Mrs. Van Sloten had a heart attack and died at her home on Friday. Funeral services were held Tuesday at one o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the First Reformed Church with Rev. J. Straaks of Orange City officiating. The grand children were pall bearers.

Surviving are her husband and the following children: Mrs. Al Veldkamp of Rock Rapids; Mrs. Harriet De Haan of Humbolt; Mrs. Nick Slager of Hull; Mrs. Dick De Boer of Rock Rapids; Mrs. Mina Schaap of Hull; Mrs. Walter Jansma of Rock Rapids, and Wm. A. Van Sloten of Alvord, twenty grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, and one brother, John Humme of Hull.
