Samuel Veltkamp, 85, Rock Valley, Iowa, died Saturday, June 20, 1992 in Hegg Memorial Hospital, Rock Valley.

Mr. Veltkamp was born Jan. 26, 1907 in Dispatch, Kan. As a boy he moved to Rock Valley, Iowa. He married Gertrude Bakker on Feb. 11, 1942 near Doon, Iowa. Together they farmed near Doon until moving to Rock Valley in 1974. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church were he had served as a deacon and an elder and was also a member of the Men's Society.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Harlan, Hull, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Faye) Medalen, Rock Valley, Iowa; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Martin, Hudsonville, MI; and three sisters; Coba Vander Bok and Martha Ver Burg, both of Rock Valley; and Hattie Dekker, Chicago Heights, IL.

Services were held at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday in the First Christian Reformed Church, Rock Valley, with burial in Valley View Cemetery.

Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley was in charge of arrangements.
